For my client in The Hague I led the project Hardware Separated Encryption (HSE) with two solution architects, three engineers, one tester and several client stakeholders.
Cryptography is becoming increasingly crucial for Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) requirements, key generation, storage, and processing, digital signing services, securing blockchain systems, subscriber authentication.
Among others, the team installed the 27 Hardware Security Machines (HSMs) in the racks of two datacenters, following the Secured Goods procedure. The monitoring of availability and performance of the 27 HSMs was set up and presented in a dashboard. Also, setting up the processes to keep the systems and components up- to-date and provide with current patches and updates.
Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) are physical devices that perform cryptographic operations. HSMs are the most proven secure method for cryptographic use cases.
